我们家没有电视。自从一年半以前我们搬离了摩顿就一台电视也没有了，我现在都忘记家里有个电视是什么样的了。然而，我对我们现在拥有的东西很满意—地下室的一个家庭影院。没错儿，在我们家的地下室有一个电影院。那是一个投影仪，连着DVD播放机，不论我们把什么DVD碟片放到投影仪里，都会投射到墙上。有六个高品质的音箱环绕在房间里，所以不论谁坐在沙发上看电影，都会感觉声音围绕着他。相当酷，是吗？还比通常的影剧院更舒服。
这就是为什么我非常喜欢看电影。公共图书馆就在我的学校旁边，所以对我来说任何时间去借个电影回来看都很容易。自从我上小学后，我最喜欢的一个电影是哈里.波特。我认为每一个人都听过哈里.波特，要是你没有听过，那……我所能说的就是你没有童年。我喜爱这个系列！这个系列七本书我至少读了四到五遍，所有的电影我至少都看了两遍。事实上，这是关于哈里.波特，唯一一个在死亡咒语下生存下来的人，他和杀死了他父母并且也想杀死他的伏地魔王的战斗。伏地魔王是一个超级厉害的邪恶巫师，在巫师的世界里人们都以为他死了，可是他活了下来，并且在书的末尾……好了，我不能说出来结尾，你得自己去看！
另一个我全心喜爱的电影是暮光之城，以及它的三个系列。你可能也已经听说过这个了，虽然我不确定它在中国有多受喜爱。许多人憎恨它，我不明白为什么。当人们贬低它时我真是很生气，特别是这些贬低并不属实的时候。如果他们不喜欢这个电影，没有关系，但是他们不应该认为喜欢这个电影的是人是白痴！我不是白痴（至少我不这么看），我喜爱暮光之城。我读过这个系列的每一本书，也看过每一部电影。它是关于一个叫做爱德华.库伦的吸血鬼和一个叫做贝拉.斯万的高中女生的爱情故事。爱德华的吸血鬼家族是“素食者”，意思是他们不喝人血，只喝动物的。所有的故事发生在福克斯，美国华盛顿州的一个小雨城。我不想再说更多了，否则你去看的时候就无法好好享受这个故事了。我真的非常想推荐你去看看。
我也非常喜欢星球大战（我想总共有六集）。它非常后现代主义，有宇宙飞船及星际穿梭，还有外星人和超级先进的技术。它一直在讲着着安娜青.斯盖瓦克，然后是路克.斯盖瓦克（这两人长得都非常帅）的故事。片子的结尾非常令人惊喜，看的时候我一直紧张地坐在沙发边上。很多的情节一个接着一个，并且……我真的不知道怎么去描述它。这片子实在太好看了。如果你有时间，你应该去看！
我喜欢的电影超过一百万个，我根本没有时间去描述它们。我只能在这儿列出一些：纳尼亚传奇（非常非常温馨）；指环王（超级超级超级长，但每一分钟都值得。不要试着去读这些书，我试了十次都放弃了。不过，你可以试，如果你喜欢又长又枯燥的书，它会用四页纸的篇幅去描写一扇门，你肯定读不下去第一章）；哈比特人（指环王的先行篇，电影的第一部分就要出来了）；温暖的尸体（非常深奥，关于一个女孩的童年和成长，可以了解种族歧视，还有很多）；歌喉赞（最后这部里面有很多音乐，非常容易记住，这片子让我笑了好多次。它是我所介绍的电影中最短的一部，但是惊人地好）。
好了，就这些了。如果你需要在看英文电影的时候有中文字幕的话，就看这些吧。你绝不会后悔的！
【小哭补充介绍】Susan有一次跟我们提到这篇小文，说是她忘记把她非常喜欢的那个叫做“长发公主”的电影写进去了。因为那是一个Susan和小宝都喜爱的电影，她在刚刚过去的生日聚会上，和朋友们一起看的也是这部电影。她的小说中有一段情节描写，讲的就是一群朋友在地下室看长发公主这个电影！

My family don’t have a TV. We haven’t had one since we moved from Malden a year and a half ago, and I’ve almost forgotten what it’s like to have TV in the house. However, I’m pretty satisfied with what we have now—a home theater in the basement. Yup, you heard me, we’ve got a theater in our basement. There’s a projector, connected to a DVD player, and whatever DVDs we put in the DVD player will be projected onto the wall. Around the room are six top-quality speakers, so whoever’s sitting on the couches watching the movie will be hearing sounds from all around them. Pretty cool, huh? Way more comfortable than the usual movie theaters.
That’s why I’m really into watching movies. The public library’s right next to my school, so it’s easy for me to check out movies and watch them any time. One of my favorite since Elementary School is Harry Potter. I’m sure everyone’s heard of it, and if you haven’t, well… all I can say is that you had no childhood. I love that series! I read all seven books at least four or five times, and I watched all of the movies at least twice. Basically, it’s about Harry Potter, the only person to have survived the killing curse, and his battle with Lord Voldemort, the bad guy that killed Harry’s parents and tried to kill Harry. Voldemort is a super-powerful dark wizard, and was assumed dead by the wizard community, but then it turned out he somehow revived, and in the end of the book….well, I won’t give away the ending. You have to watch it!!
Another movie I LOVE with all my heart is Twilight, and its three sequels. You’ve probably heard of this too, though I’m not sure how popular it is in China. A lot of people hate this, and I don’t see why. I get really angry when people insult it, especially when the insults they give isn’t even true. I’m fine if they don’t like it, but they shouldn’t assume everyone who likes it is a stupid idiot! I’m not stupid (at least, I don’t think so) and I love Twilight. I’ve read all the books, and watched all movies. It’s about a romance between a vampire, Edward Cullen, and a high school girl, Bella Swan. Edward’s vampire family is “vegetarian”, meaning they don’t drink people’s blood, just animals’. The whole story takes place in Forks, a small rainy town in Washington, USA. I don’t want to give away anymore, or else you wouldn’t be able to enjoy the story if you do watch it, which I really recommend you do.
I really enjoyed Star Wars (there’s six episodes in all, I think). It’s very futuristic, with spaceships and galaxy traveling and aliens and super-advanced technology. It followed the life of Anakin Skywalker, and then Luke Skywalker (who are both pretty good looking). It ends on a very surprising but very sweet note, and I was kept on the edge of my seat the whole time. There’s a lot of action going on, and……I really don’t know how to describe it. It’s just awesome. If you have any time, you’ve got to watch thm!
There’s a million and one movies out there that I love, and I don’t have time to describe them all. I’ll just list some more: The Chronicles of Narnia (very, very sweet and heartwarming); Lord of the Rings (super, super, super long, but worth every minute. Don’t even try to read the books, I gave up after about ten tries. Well, you can try, but unless you like long, boring books that spend four pages describing a door, you won’t finish the first chapter); The Hobbit (prequel to Lord of the Rings, the first part of the movie just came out); Warm Bodies (very deep and thought-provoking, and made me think about the purpose of life and love); To Kill a Mockingbird (about a girl’s childhood, growing up, and learning about racial discrimination, and a lot more); and Pitch Perfect. There’s a lot of music in the last one, very catchy music, and it made me laugh a lot. It’s the shortest of all the ones I’ve mentioned, but surprisingly good.
Alright. That’s about all I’ve got. So if you ever find the need to watch an English movie with Chinese subtitles, watch those ones. You won’t regret it!

翻译有时不能直译要意译，比如“我喜欢的电影超过一百万个”，我知道孩子可能用了一百万这个英文字，但是你知道这里不是一百万的意思，而是指很多，所以你如果翻成：我喜欢的电影有无数。就会又贴切又自然。 希望你不介意。 |

不介意。有时间就认真琢磨琢磨着译，没时间就差不多地译：）但是这个词儿，我还真的想了一想，觉得女儿不用COUNTLESS或 A LOT, 想想中文也会有类似的表达，特别这是孩子的文章，我觉得保留这个词更好。原文孩子的用词不是一百万，是一百万零一个 |
