After a successful trial in April, we are going to apply a new teaching method for the Mandarin Chinese classes held in our school from May on. Besides learning the daily conversation, colors, numbers, etc. our children will start to read from “Discourses and Saying of Confucius,” which is the most important book in China’s history.
The content below will give you a taste about this book:
Confucius remarked, “ A young man, when at home, should be a good son; when out in the world, a good citizen. He should be circumspect and truthful. He should be in sympathy with all men, but intimate with men of moral character.”
Confucius remarked, “When you have bad habits, do not hesitate to change them.”
Through the daily reading of this book, our children will be able to learn Chinese characters, which will allow them to read more Chinese books later.
Through this method, they will not only learn the Chinese language but also learn the Chinese culture, which will benefit their life in the future even though they may not understand the meaning now.
Please feel free to send emails to Ms. Sally if you have any questions about our Mandarin teaching program.
