Chinese American Youth Essay Contest
Two literary magazines, "Chinese Literature of the Americas" in the USA and "New Writers" in China, jointly and
proudly announce their international Chinese American Youth Essay Contest for 2012-2013.
The essay contest is also cosponsored by The Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs
Association（APAPA）and the Shin Shin Educational Foundation. ect
Purpose: To promote American and Chinese culture exchange and give the youth an
opportunity to express their dreams through creative writing.
Theme: My Dream
Participants in the contest are asked to write about their dreams: what makes you have such a dream?
What do you hope the dream will bring you? You may write about your family or school life, a
romance, a philosophical dilemma, a moving novel, a unique travel experience, a
social commentary, your imagination or your experience.
Participants: Students in elementary school, middle/junior high school, high school
and college/university students.
Guidelines: No didacticism or cliche phrases. No word limitation.Plagiarism is strictly prohibited.
Each entry must be its title words "Chinese American Youth Essay Contest".
Each entry must be an original unpublished. but In network’s blog post no limitation
Each entry must have the following information:
* the student’s name, * grade level, * name of school,
* student's email address,* and * student's phone number,

Prizes: All winners will be awarded:

Winners will be announced and posted on websites of both magazines, blogs and other media by June 30,
2013. Prizes will be awarded by the prominent US Chinese leaders and writers at the end of July 2013 at a grand
ceremony at the Summer Camp in the USA or CHINA.
曹樹堃，国际著名提琴制作家，多次榮獲世界級大獎。最近在紐約名琴比賽中獲得音質首獎，与意大利百万名琴不煌多让。曹先生熱心弘揚中華文化，擔任紅杉林雜誌董事長、中美青少年中英文比賽顧問。
呂紅，旅美作家。文學博士。現任《紅杉林》美洲華人文藝總編輯，美國華文文藝界協會副會長。中國僑聯文學藝術家協會海外顧問，華僑出版社理事。
"我的夢"（MyDream）中美青少年中英文作文大賽以青少年中英文創作為契機，促進教育及文化交流，紅杉林雜誌、亞裔公共事務聯盟APAPA、欣欣教育基金會等聯合舉辦青少年徵文比賽。
宗旨：以青少年中英文創作為契機，促進教育發展、增進中美文化交流。

1、征文時間：從9月開始舉辦“我的夢”（My Dream）青少年中英文征文大賽
2、征文方式：大賽分設“中國賽點”和“美國賽點”，分小學組、初中組、高中組、大學組四個學段。
3、征文內容：

4、征文要求：
註重思考的深刻、註重語言的敏感、註重人文的精神、註重想象力、註重才情、註重創造力、註重作文本身；與矯情無關、與口號無關、與所謂模式無關、與一切該死的作文教條無關；沒有體裁、題材的限制，沒有字數、篇幅的限制，沒有任何的限制！
5、註意事項
A.征文日期：2012年9月至2013年4月30日
B.所有參賽稿件必須是未曾在公開刊物上發表的作品，但網絡博客發表不限。
C.所有參賽稿件電子稿件主題註明“中美青少年征文大賽”字樣。
D.請在稿件後附上學校\年級、聯系電話、電子信箱等聯系方式。

6、征文辦法：評審結果6月在《紅杉林》《新作文》上公布，刊登獲獎作品及獲獎名單。在中美媒體、網站、博客、貼吧公布。征文專輯刊登中外獲獎作品。並精選出版青少年優秀作品集。
7、獎項設置：
一等獎$300，二等獎$200，三等獎$100。優秀獎10名。凡獲獎均頒發獲獎證書，並有資格參加夏令營活動。優秀指導老師獎。頒發獲獎證書。暑假期間舉辦中美青少年文學夏令營活動。
8、頒獎典禮：
夏令營期間舉行盛大的頒獎典禮，將由著名華裔領袖及資深專家頒獎，並做主題演講。讓中美學生親身感受“美國夢”與“中國夢”是什麽樣的，了解美國華人的歷史及貢獻，以及慈善公益事業。同時設文學講座、讀書交流等活動。特邀中美作家參與講座，讓中美青少年領略不一樣的人生。
