The Sea

Sitting on the rock, in a dream

Boundless sea coming to meet my eyes

What longing I have for your embrace

Let me drop, like rain

Absorbed into your waves

Sitting on the rock, in a dream

Roaring tides lapping at my feet

What sweet memory brought back

Let me lie down, resting at your bottom

Becoming a particle of sediment one day

Sitting on the rock, in a dream

Gentle breeze caressing my face

Oh, wind, blow me away

Like a seed, like a sand

Depositing on the seabed

Sitting on the rock, in a dream

Sun shine enwrapping my shoulders

Oh, bliss, oh glory!

I hear your endearing whispers

Coming from far away, yet residing in me

Sitting on the rock, in a dream

Moon light glistening on my hair

What peace, what tranquility

Wings stretching out of my sides

Rising, rising, toward the apex of heavenly dome

Standing on the rock, in a dream

Silent sea so blue and pure

Your virtue softens my core

Let me fall into your bosom

Turning into foam on the first touch

Lo, behold the foam

It’s tiny yet it’s vast as the sea

Shining, buoyant and carefree

Sailing to the other side

Leaving all traces of vanity behind
