女儿上初中了。
这些天，她常常对我喋喋不休以色列和巴勒斯坦冲突的问题，原来是她的历史课老师正在介绍这段历史和现实。让我很意外的是，老师的教学不仅仅停止于此，而是进一步问小孩子如果让他们解决这个问题，他们会怎么处理呢？
于是，女儿来了兴趣。
不仅给我介绍她的同学都提出了什么解决办法，而且分别说她对这些办法的看法，为什么她不同意他们的办法。我对美国初中的老师会这么认真地要求小孩子对世界上这么尖锐、棘手的问题提建议感到很吃惊，也对女儿会对这样一个国际政治问题感兴趣有些出乎意料。于是，我问女儿：“那你有什么办法呢？”
下边就是女儿在我建议下用文字记下她的想法，很孩子气，但却是她思考的结果。
以色列的冲突 （我的翻译）
以色列和巴基斯坦的冲突已经肆虐多年了。双方都认为以色列是他们自己应得的土地。世界各地的人们一直都在试图帮助解决这个问题却没有成功，如果是你，你会怎么解决呢？
我班上的小朋友认为应该把以色列一分为二，在我看，这个主意太离谱！如果你不得不和你的兄弟姐妹分享一个电脑，你不可能把电脑砍成两半。我认为你不能把一个很小的国家分成更小的国家。就是你把这个国家分成两半两，以色列人和巴勒斯坦人依然不会高兴，他们都觉得他们应该得到所有应得的土地。以色列人和巴勒斯坦人的冲突是在我们上历史课时引起我的兴趣。
班上一组小朋友认为巴勒斯坦人和以色列人应该联合起来去征服另一个更小的国家。他们同时还认为他们可以发明一种让人遗忘的药面儿，这样以色列人和巴勒斯坦人就可以忘记他们的积怨。我不同意这个办法，我说：你们的计划有漏洞。以色列人和巴勒斯坦人互相憎恨，他们怎么可能联合起来呢？如果“遗忘药面儿”能成功发明出来，你还得销毁世界上所有的圣经。因为他们所信仰的，都在圣经里面。只要他们看到一部圣经，他们就会重新忆起他们之间的仇恨，然后重返冲突。
我的解决办法是双方签署一个条约，要求他们双方在最基本的民生方面（食物、水、住房）上互相帮助。签署条约一般发生在战争结束时，条约阐明战争双方会尝试放弃他们之间的争议，尝试共享。因为共享就是关怀。
但是，有人已经试过我的办法但到目前为止并不起作用。我们需要在以色列和巴勒斯坦的年轻一代中努力，实现他们互相帮助、共享这块应得的土地的目标。
Israel Conflict （女儿原文）
The conflict in Israel between the Israelites and the Palestinians has been raging on for years. Both sides of the party, though it is not really a party believe that Israel is their promise land. People all over the world have been trying to solve this problem without success. How would you solve it?
People in my class were talking about splitting the country in half which I thought that was crazy. If you had a computer and had to share it with a sibling you wouldn’t just cut it in half. I think that you cannot just split up a country that is already small into something smaller. Even if you did so people would still be unhappy about not getting all of the promise land to themselves. This conflict came to my attention when we started to discuss this in my History class.
One group in particular thought that the Palestinians and the Israelites could join forces and take over another smaller country. They also thought that they could create a forgetful powder to make them forget everything. I disagreed and said there were things in their plan to be fixed. The Israelites and the Palestinians don’t like each other so why would they join forces? If the powder was successful they would need to destroy every Bible in the world. They would have to do this because the Bible has everything they believe in them. If they got ahold of the Bible they would remember the hatred between them and go right back to fighting.
My solution is to create a treaty that states that they will help each other with essential needs like food, water, and shelter. Treaties happen at the ends of wars to state that they will try to set aside differences and share because “sharing is caring”.
But they have already tried these things and it hasn’t worked so far. We need to work at the younger generation of the people and try to get them into helping each other and sharing the promise land.

太厉害了！这么小的孩子都在关心着近半个世纪以来一直难以解决的问题，从我们的孩提时代开始，就一直说要“支持巴勒斯坦人民的正义斗争”，直到现在我们已经迈向老年，这问题还是没有解决，但现在得孩子们已经在考虑这样得大难题解决方法，他们已经有这种忧国忧民的意识了，真棒！美国的历史课上得真好！赞一个！ |
